If you are reading my blog, I have got your attention. I hope to hold it by inspiring you.
Inspiring you to do what?
Well, that part is up to you; because the things that inspire you, that capture your imagination, are different from the things that will inspire your family and friends.
“Once a year, go someplace you’ve never been before.”
Dalai Lama
I have been held responsible for encouraging my friends in to all kinds of things; running the Manchester 10k,
joining a netball team,
skydiving.
I get involved, share my enthusiasm, tell my story, and sometimes it sparks an idea, which grows, until it becomes a plan. A plan to run a marathon,
to cycle through France, and then again through Italy.
Who knows, after reading my blog, you may be heading out for afternoon tea, reaching for a rounders bat,
or signing up to make your own stained glass.
Ideas often develop and grow from hearing and sharing other people’s stories.
“There’s always room for a story that can transport people to another place.”
JK Rowling
Thoughts and ideas that may not seem connected in any other arena, are connected here because they are all part of my story. I write about things I have experienced, to give you an insight in to the rich and diverse opportunities available in Manchester and beyond.
Manchester has been my home for about 8 years now and I love it here. Ian Brown once said
“Manchester has everything, except a beach”.
If you include the fact you can get to a beach in about an hour, you could say Manchester has it all. From Manchester you can do anything, go anywhere, see any show, try any sport, and I for one like to try the many new and interesting things that Manchester has to offer.
If you’re thinking about planning a 1000 mile cycle, you may be better starting with my earlier blogs, but for all things Manchester, and sometimes a bit further afield, start here, and see where you’re inspired to end up next.
