Cupcake Prize

I started my post ‘Winning a Milkshake from the Milk Barn’ with the words, “I never win anything…” It appears that my luck has changed and I recently won 12 cupcakes from Airyfairy, Didsbury in a Twitter competition!

The Airyfairy Cake Boutique has been selling gorgeous cupcakes and Afternoon Teas to the lucky people of Didsbury and beyond since April 2011. I do believe they offer special doggie cupcakes too – although I can’t say I’ve sampled those!

They were kind enough to agree that I could claim my prize a few weeks later, in perfect time for my Birthday Afternoon Tea. And sure enough, on Saturday morning my cakes were all beautifully boxed and tied with pink ribbon, waiting to be collected.

Inside, the shop is just wonderful. It has a vintage theme with pretty table cloths, chintz, and pastel colours. The counter is rammed full of cupcakes and every other kind of cake you can imagine.

My 12 cupcakes were selected from the flavours baked that morning, each exquisitely decorated with delicious buttercream icing.

I can assure you that they tasted as good as they looked. In fact, I’m just polishing off a leftover malteaser cupcake as I write this, so apologies for the sticky fingers.
