Mulled Apple Juice

It’s tasty, it’s warming, and it provides a delicious alternative to tea if you find yourself putting the kettle on more frequently as the temperatures finally fall in to Winter.

Apples are also a great source of antioxidants and their Vitamin C content can help boost your immune system, which can only be a good thing in cold and flu season.

I’ve created this recipe by modifying ideas I’ve found online to suit the contents of my store cupboard, so play around with it until you find the taste that suits you.

To make 1 portion of Mulled Apple Juice

2 Cloves

Method

Choose your favourite mug and pour in some apple juice. I love cloudy apple juice but any would work.

Tip the apple juice in to a small saucepan.

Add the spices, maple syrup and orange zest.

Heat gently until warmed through and the apple juice has taken on all those lovely flavours.

Pour back in to your favourite mug.

Enjoy.
